First-time clearance, not third-time arguments.

Customs Clearance

Import and export declarations lodged correctly and followed through to release.

Customs officers examining inbound cargo

Every day cargo sits at the port or airport it costs money - storage, demurrage, and often your customer's patience. Brandmax customs clearance exists to make clearance boring: correct entries, correct classification, correct duties, lodged before arrival and followed through to release.

We lodge import and export declarations in the KRA customs system at all the points that matter - the Port of Mombasa, JKIA, inland container depots and the border posts on the regional corridors. Our team prepares the entry, computes duties and taxes accurately, responds to customs queries and coordinates physical verification where it is required.

Because clearance and transport sit in the same company, a released container goes straight to haulage rather than waiting in a queue of phone calls between separate agents. That integration is usually worth days, not hours.

Frequently asked questions

How long does customs clearance take in Kenya?

With correct documents, most entries clear within 1-3 working days at Mombasa and JKIA. Regulated goods needing agency inspections can take longer - we flag that before the cargo ships, not after.

What documents do I need to import?

Typically: commercial invoice, packing list, Bill of Lading or airway bill, Import Declaration Form (IDF), and product-specific permits where applicable. We send a checklist for your specific goods.

Can you clear cargo already stuck at the port?

Yes - send us the situation and documents; we will identify the blocker (entry errors, missing permits, classification disputes) and resolve it.
