Carriers limit their liability. Insurance does not.

Cargo Insurance

Marine, air and transit cover arranged alongside your shipment.

Container vessel at sea

Here is the uncomfortable arithmetic of shipping: carrier liability is legally limited, often to a fraction of cargo value. A standard ocean carrier's liability can work out to a few dollars per kilo - meaningless against a container of electronics. Cargo insurance exists for that gap, and it is cheaper than most shippers assume.

Brandmax arranges cargo insurance alongside your shipment - marine cover for sea legs, air cargo cover, and transit cover for the road journeys in between, including warehouse-to-warehouse terms that protect the goods from your supplier's door to your customer's.

Cover options range from all-risks (ICC 'A') for full protection to named-perils for leaner budgets, and documentation can be issued to satisfy letter-of-credit and bank requirements. If something does go wrong, we manage the claims process with you - surveyors, documents, settlement - rather than handing you a policy number and wishing you luck.

What is included

  • All-risks (ICC A) and named-perils cover options

Frequently asked questions

Is cargo insurance really necessary?

Carrier liability is legally limited and usually covers only a small fraction of cargo value. For anything you cannot afford to lose, insurance is strongly recommended - and it typically costs a small percentage of the goods' value.

What does all-risks cover include?

Physical loss or damage from most external causes during transit - subject to standard exclusions like inherent defect or improper packing. We explain the exact terms before you buy.

Can you insure just one shipment?

Yes - single-shipment cover is standard. Regular shippers can also arrange an open policy covering all movements automatically.
