Sea Freight - FCL & LCL

Full container load and less-than-container-load services through the Port of Mombasa and major world ports.

Container ship alongside port cranes

Sea freight is the backbone of Kenya's import and export trade, and the Port of Mombasa is where Brandmax does its heaviest lifting. We book FCL (full container load) in 20ft, 40ft and 40ft high-cube equipment on all major trade lanes, and run LCL (less-than-container-load) consolidations for cargo that does not fill a box.

Our port-side coordination covers everything a container touches: shipping line booking and Bill of Lading, port and terminal handling, customs entries, and onward haulage to Nairobi or upcountry. Reefer, open-top and flat-rack equipment is arranged where cargo demands it, and we manage both imports into Kenya and exports to world markets - tea, coffee, horticulture and manufactured goods alike.

For LCL shippers, consolidation is where real money is saved: your cartons share a container with compatible cargo and you pay only for the space you use, with the same documentation discipline as a full box. De-consolidation, customs clearance and distribution from Mombasa or Nairobi are handled by the same team.

Frequently asked questions

How long does sea freight take to Mombasa?

Typical port-to-port transit is 18-30 days from China and the Far East, and 20-35 days from Europe, depending on carrier and routing. Add a few days each end for booking, clearance and haulage - we confirm the actual schedule at quotation.

FCL or LCL - which is right for me?

As a rule of thumb, above roughly 12-15 cubic metres a dedicated 20ft container is usually better value and lower risk. Below that, LCL keeps costs proportional. We price both where the line is close.

Can you collect my goods from the supplier overseas?

Yes - through our partner network we can arrange ex-works collection, origin handling and export formalities at most major ports.

What documents do I need for a sea shipment?

Commercial invoice, packing list, Bill of Lading, Import Declaration Form for Kenya-bound cargo, and any product-specific permits. We send a checklist matched to your cargo.
